Our Story

Jordan first held worship services in 2009 born from the cooperative spirit of faithful churches in the greater Raleigh metro area that understood the important of planting new churches. This energy has formed the bodies of believers at Jordan to be focused on our place in the community as beacons of light and hope in a world of need. Throughout the year Jordan is active to care for those who are broken spiritually and physically. Locally we work with the homeless in Raleigh, support local students through our Back to School Bonanza and invest in the importance of training adults and children up in God's Word.

Jordan is a community of faith that knows the world often asks where is God in the middle of life's difficult days. It is into this very world that the Bible details God's passion for all people to come to the knowledge of what our creator has done for the world to restore all things. As God's people we see our spiritual walk taking place in three fundamental ways born from Jesus' words at the close of the Gospel of Matthew. "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:18-20). It is a journey of discipleship that we walk each and everyday.

Our Mission

Encounter God

God is not hidden, in fact He promises us in the Bible that forgiveness is found for all who acknowledge the power of Jesus' sacrifice for the world on Calvary's cross. Each and every week as we gather in worship we are given the opportunity to celebrate the wonders of our God who came into this physical world to bring healing.

Embrace the Word

As people who see the work of God's hand we must constantly renew ourselves by seeking God where He can be found in the Bible. "Faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17). Our greatest weapon in the world is the same one Jesus used to rebuke Satan when He was tempted with the words of Scripture.

Impact All Nations

The message of forgiveness shown to us in Jesus is a joy that cannot be held in secret. It is out of the boundless love shown to us in Christ Jesus that we give back to those in need in our backyards or those around the world in our growing missionary partnership in the Dominican Republic.

Jordan Juniors

At Jordan, we know that families worshipping together and hearing the Word of God together not only strengthens faith in a child, but shows children how important God is to their parents. Children are always welcome to stay in the entire service and are never asked to leave.

Children's Sermon

Before the sermon, children are welcome to come forward to hear a special message from Pastor Mike that is targeted toward them.

Nursery

For our littlest Jordan Juniors, a nursery volunteer is available during the sermon when a young child needs a little break. The nursery is located in theater 9. An usher can assist you in locating the nursery and introducing you to the nursery volunteer.

Children's Choir

On second Sundays, children will be invited during the sermon to learn a Bible lesson and create music to the Lord! They will rejoin the service to sing during the offering.

Bible EXPRESS!

On fourth Sundays, children will be invited to join together in Theater 9 during the sermon for additional exploration of the Bible Study lesson with activities, skits and more. They will rejoin the service after the sermon.

Ten Year Blueprint

How will people characterize Jordan Lutheran Church in 2026? The 10 Year Blueprint document is an outline of what our church’s leaders believe God wants us to accomplish as we go forward in the mission of this church.

On February 8, 2009 worship service began among the family of faith called Jordan Lutheran Church. For the past decade the Lord has guided the mission and ministry of this congregation. The future of Jordan Lutheran is in the Lord’s gracious and loving care.

The 10 Year Blueprint is a guide for the coming years as our congregation seeks to teach and train disciples of Jesus Christ. We will start to put into place the key strategies outlined in the blueprint as we boldly proclaim Christ's work in our homes, our communities and to the ends of the earth.
