A New Site for Future Ministry

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Jordan Lutheran Church rejoices in the new chapter of our history together in Apex.

We praise God for His continued steadfast love and faithfulness.

Groundbreaking Service

Jordan’s formal annexation plat was recorded by the Town of Apex. We are one step closer to construction permits and the start of the general contractor. While we are not able to gather in large numbers at the site prior to completion, a short service of dedication and groundbreaking was held on site. Groundbreaking jars were created for every family in the church. If you did not receive one please contact the office (919) 303-1613 to have one delivered.

Project Updates - Monthly Devotion

Jordan is walking daily toward a new ministry. Every month this year we will study the solid foundation our Lord shares instructing us on how we live, work and play. Click on the monthly devotion to see what God has in store for us and how you can become more involved.

Together we live out our Ten Year Blueprint goals to: Know Christ, Grow in Christ, Serve Christ and Go for Christ. Each monthly devotion offers ways to connect in each ministry area.  A church that seeks to construct a building must begin by first investing in the people God has called together nourished on the preaching of God's Word, washed in the waters of baptism and fed at the Lord's Table.

Learning from our 10 Year Rental Experience

Since 2009, Jordan Lutheran Church has held worship services in Apex, North Carolina at Beaver Creek Cinemas. As we embraced God’s Word, our Sunday School classes, music groups and activities expanded. Yet in our rental agreements, the theater limits Sunday access from 7 a.m. to noon. Sunday education at the theater is constrained by setting up weekly in a hallway and theater. Our rented office space has sound ordinances and limited size allowances which hamper engagements during the week. In order for Jordan to continue to provide growing ministry opportunities, new facility options for Sunday and weekly assembly were pursued in our area.

Envisioning and Planning for a Permanent Ministry Site

In 2016, the congregation adopted a 10 Year Blueprint (2016-2026) that envisioned a move to a permanent ministry site. In a fast-paced real estate environment, God provided an open door for Jordan to secure a 6.2 acre site with road frontage on Beaver Creek Commons Drive within walking distance to the theater. Planned renovations on this new site will include upfitting a 5,700 sqft house to be used as the future church office and education rooms.

This will provide safe spaces for our growing children’s ministries. Additional rooms will make it possible to provide more than one adult education class each week. The creation of a community life facility (2,700 square feet) will allow Jordan to assemble 172 in worship as well as permit usage during the week. Jordan will be able to offer mid-week services and meals without having to rent any additional facilities. The community life facility is designed to be versatile and offer easy transitions between worship, fellowship, and mid-week events.

Support the Breaking Ground Campaign

Over the next three years, Jordan will grow into our new ministry footprint with a three part campaign: Breaking Ground (2020), Breaking Bread (2021) and Breaking Free (2022). In the fall of 2019, Jordan received Minor Site Plan approval from the town of Apex to proceed with our construction plans. The rich blessings of the Lord have brought us to this moment in our congregation history.

"The people rejoiced because they had given willingly, for with a whole heart they had offered freely to the Lord." (1 Chronicles 29:9)

Past, Present and Future of Jordan Lutheran Church

As Jordan moves forward in a new ministry site in Apex, we are reminded of what Christ has done

for us over the past 10 years as a congregation and how we continue to open the Scriptures as our guide.
